We took the babies to a Memorial Day parade so that they could enjoy the sights and sounds of the festivities and remembrance. The warmth outside was visible in their flushed faces and the glisten of sunscreen. They enjoyed seeing the decorated cars, fire trucks and horses.
The parade got off to a great start with an amazing fly over.
Boy Scouts in full uniform marched along the route.
Grayson looked overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of it all
while Ryder appeared fascinated.
The Red Hat Ladies made an appearance on a passing military vehicle
which was followed by a message of remembrance.
The babies enjoyed the colorful flags
and beautiful horses
Capri and Xayden watched with interest
as girls in sparkly costumes twirled batons
and a talented young band energized the crowd.
When the parade was over, the babies fell asleep in the car on the way home. I imagine their dreams danced with images of horses, cars and marching bands. What did your family do over the long weekend? I would love to hear your stories. As always, comments are welcome.
