I hope you have been enjoying the Playful Preschool series. If you haven’t already, I would encourage you to follow the hashtag #playfulpreschool so you can find all of the educational posts by our group of blogger educators. This week the theme is ‘Creepy Crawlies.’ I decided to create a song that taught the difference in the number of legs between insects and spiders. It also introduces a little bit of basic math. The repetition of singing the song with different insects and spiders reinforces the learning, both in terms recognizing the difference between insects and spiders and memorizing the simple math problems.
If you try this song with your children or students, I’d love to hear about it. Have you done activities related to insect and spiders? Feel free to share in the comments.
