Our local Twins Club sponsored an Easter egg hunt. This was the babies’ first egg hunt and we were excited to see what they would do. It was great to see all the twins in matching or coordinated outfits collecting eggs. There were cones dividing the areas for the smaller and bigger kids. The babies were in the under three section where eggs had no ‘choke hazards’ inside. As it turned out, they had no idea that there was anything inside at all.
A bunny piñata greeted us upon our arrival.
The hunt was on. Ryder and Capri both found an egg.
Ryder and Grayson examined the eggs in the grass
while Xayden was content to sit with his finds.
Ryder studied his egg
as Grayson contemplated his treasure.
Capri noticed the children racing around collecting eggs in their baskets.
Each child was allotted a certain number of eggs. Our babies did not know that and had no sense of urgency. It was refreshing to see them enjoying the moment without any desire for more. When they learn to count and learn about fair play, they will want ‘their share.’ We enjoyed this moment where none of that mattered.
