I save our egg cartons because there are so many crafts that can be made from them. They can also be used for sorting and counting. I think Greg sometimes wonders why I save all the egg cartons and cardboard tubes. Since we have four little ones, we need four times the amount for crafts.
Egg Carton Sweet Heart Face with a Candy Kiss Nose
You will need:
- Egg carton (cardboard)
- Scissors
- Red tempera paint
- Paint brush
- glitter
- Hershey’s kiss with red wrapping
- White glue
- Google eyes
Capri had fun painting her sweet heart face.
Cut out the egg carton in the shape of a heart. An adult or older child should do this part. Then, have your child use the paint brush to paint the heart red. When the paint is still wet, your child can sprinkle glitter on it. Once it dries, have your child glue on the eyes and place the candy kiss nose in the hole at the lower end of the heart (see picture). No glue is needed for the candy kiss. This activity should be supervised as the candy kisses could pose a choking hazard for younger children. Our little ones do not know that they are candy so they made no attempt to eat them as I did this activity one on one.

I love these egg carton hearts! We always keep egg cartons and this is such a great idea. I cannot wait to do this! You should link it up to Eco-Kids. I just found this linky focused on recycled crafts and such and love it. http://organicaspirations.blogspot.com/2013/01/if-like-me-you-live-in-united-states.html
