When I was approached by the publisher of young authors, Paris Morris and Liberty Morris to review their books, I was intrigued. Paris, now in middle school, wrote her first book at the age of eight and has since written several more children’s books. She stars in the books along with her twin sisters and her parents. Paris is mentioned in a Forbes article on young entrepreneurs. Liberty, her nine year-old sister who is also one of the twins, authored Paris Goes to San Francisco. The newest travel series is about the adventures Paris has with her family as they visit different destinations.
Paris Goes to San Francisco is about a day in the city with Paris and her family. Various landmarks and activities are brought to life with educational facts and colorful illustrations. This would be a great book to get before travelling to San Francisco to teach your children about the city so they can identify with Paris and her sisters as they visit the same destinations. If you are a parent of young twins, they would enjoy seeing books with twins as regular characters.
Paris Goes to Lake Tahoe chronicles Paris’s family adventures as they visit Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas. This book gives young readers information about many activities they can enjoy in the Lake Tahoe area, from rafting to snowboarding. It demonstrates that Paris has a strong bond with her immediate and extended family. She mentions several family members, including her aunt and uncle who take the kids out for a boat ride while Paris joyfully rides behind in an inner tube.
The travel series is great for engaging imagination in your children as they join Paris and her family for sight seeing and fun activities. It would be exciting to talk to your kids about how the authors of the books became published when they were still in elementary school. It may inspire your kids to follow their own dreams no matter how young they are. It is amazing what kids can accomplish when they believe in themselves and have supportive families.
The babies enjoyed the colorful illustrations and listening to the stories. They are still too young to understand the stories, but some day they will identify with Paris and her family as our family goes to Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. There are some great free coloring pages on Myfriendparis.com. It will be fun for your kids to read the stories in the books and then color the characters on the coloring pages. The publisher has generously offered one copy of Paris Goes to Lake Tahoe and one copy of Paris Goes to San Francisco for a Capri + 3 giveaway. You can visit their store to see all of the selections and gear.
