Kids say the funniest things. I try to write down as many as I can. Lately, Xayden has had the most gems.
Me: “Grayson, you know you are not supposed to open the front door without a grown-up.”
A few minutes later:
Xayden: “Mamaaaaa! Grayson is instigating. He told me to open the door!”
Can you tell that he is the child of a psychologist?
Capri after finishing a peanut cereal bar:
“I had better wash my hands so I don’t get nut germs on Wendy” (friend with peanut allergy).
Xayden was watching a children’s cartoon featuring Santa flying through the night.
Xayden (to Capri, Grayson and Ryder) “I think Santa’s nocturnal.”
Our kids take the funniest group shots. Here is a recent one with Santa. We were at a multiples’ club Stories with Santa party. This was actually one of the better shots! If you can think of captions for each one, let me know in the comments. (left to right-Grayson, Ryder, Xayden and Capri)
While at home, Xayden stood and looked down at me sitting on the floor while I was wearing a tank top and pointed to my cleavage. He asked, “Mama, why do girls have that? It looks like a bottom.”
There is some resemblance. I left this question unanswered as he laughed and said, “Ha, ha, just kidding,” though I think he wasn’t.
We were out on a family walk and later in the walk, Greg and I held hands. Xayden looked at me, exasperated and asked, “Why are you holding hands?” I replied, “because we love each other.” He said, “But, you are not a kid!” and tried to break up our hands and hold hands between us.
What funny things have your kids said or done?

So so sweet! I need to start writing down these little gems too as one forgets as time passes by. And those are big words from such little babies. Oh my heart…
That Santa picture – it would be a great Christmas present if we all looked at the camera 🙂 🙂
My daughter who is 26 months old Loves to give hugs and kisses but sometimes she point blank refuses. One way to get her attention – mommy and daddy hug and she suddenly wants to give the hug she refused to give. She is day time potty trained and lately she would ask us (more like command) to go out of the toilet while she is doing her business 🙂 🙂

Hi Mrs. FF.
That is a great strategy to hug in front of her. I love that she then felt left out and wanted hugs! Kids often hide behind something while doing their business in their diapers but they don't know how to express their desire to be alone. Your little one is quite grown up knowing that she wants privacy. : )
We had many crying with Santa photos in previous years. This time, they pretended he wasn't there (though were fascinated by him the whole time).

Love all of these. Kids are the best comedians sometimes. I have 2 and there is never a pic where both are looking, so I totally get the Santa pic Which is adorable by the way. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Ana.
Yes, it would be great to pull out the quotes on rough days. I will have to try that!

Hi Kimberly.
I suppose all the goofy group shots are more fun and interesting than the (far and few between) smiling posed shots.

That's funny! I really should have been writing down all the funny stuff my son has said!
Theresa says
Hi Stefanie.
Kids all say such funny things. If you think of anything your son said, even if it was a long time ago, it would still be worthwhile to write down. It is fun to look back on and I imagine they will enjoy reading their quotes some day.

Oh goodness, I can so relate. My little guy has done the hand-holding thing too with my husband and I. He'll run up and try to break us apart, then when he successfully does, he grabs both our hands and yells SWING MEEEE.
Theresa says
Hi Jennifer.
That is so cute that he wants you to swing him.
