Sometimes it is nice to do a no mess project. This art activity involves using ziploc bags, tempura paint and paper. I wanted to teach the babies about shapes, so I cut out triangles, circles, squares and rectangles from regular printer paper and let them choose. If you want to save your kids paintings long-term, I would suggest using card stock, a small canvas or white cardboard instead. I held up two color choices at a time and let them pick their colors. It is amazing how much pleasure they get from making their own decisions.
Ryder touched the blobs of paint
and was amazed as they transformed
into a design he liked.
Xayden did not hold back
as he created his bold design.
If only he could open that bag…
Capri was tentative at first
but got excited to see her art manifest
into bursts of color.
Grayson loved it from the start
as he squished the bag
to create abstract art.
Their paintings were bright and bold.
The bags were a perfect place to lay out their creations to dry.
Later that day, I showed them their paintings as they ate lunch. They were pleased to see them again. What art projects have you tried lately? Are there any crafts you would like to see featured on this blog? I would love to hear your ideas and stories. As always, comments are welcome.

We are so going to try this!!! Love it. My kids all love to paint, but I do not love cleaning it off the table, chairs, wall, floor etc! Thanks for sending me the pinterest info – I will set it up this week!

Hi Jennifer.
You should try it. Sometimes it is nice to have a mess free project. I haven't done it in a while. I should do it this week. Thanks for reminding me.
