We are happy to be continuing the series on children’s yoga poses which was organized by Giselle Shardlow of Kids Yoga Stories. Many bloggers are having their chidren try out the monthly poses in Giselle’s series. Last month, we did Downward Facing Dog and this month, we are practicing the Boat Pose. We thought there was no better place to practice the boat pose than at the harbor where they could see the boats and imitate what they saw with their bodies.
They discovered that this pose requires balance and abdominal strength
and toppled over a few times as they practiced.
We had a lot of fun touring the harbor on a boat. The harbor is one of our favorite places to go and yet, we had not ventured out on one of the boats yet. The Sugar Snaps were quite excited! It was fun to get so close to the harbor seals that we could see the expressions on their faces. There was one island completely covered in pelicans which was amazing to see up close. I would recommend trying the boat tour if you haven’t done it. It runs $10 for adults and $6 for kids and lasts for forty minutes. Practicing the boat pose at the harbor definitely added to the experience. Have you tried a boat tour before? Have you tried yoga (with or without children)? I’d love to hear from you. Always, comments are welcome.
So cute! Such a fun age!
