Our kids like to help us pull weeds in the garden and we’ve talked about weeds as plants that we don’t want in the garden. When people find a a weed useful, it is no longer considered a weed. I came up with a song about weeds to the tune of The Wheels on the Bus to help them remember.
Song About Weeds
(Tune: The Wheels on the Bus)
Verse 1
Weeds are plants that people don’t need
People don’t need
People don’t need
Weeds are plants that people don’t need
They pull them from the ground.
Verse 2
When someone finds a use for a weed
Use for a weed
Use for a weed
When someone finds a use for a weed
It’s no longer a weed.
It’s a plant that people need.
Here is a video of Xayden singing the song:

This is cute! Also very true… People harvest dandelion leaves for salads these days… I still don’t want them in our yard though.
Me either! While weeds can have their uses, we still pull them and put them in our greenery bin.
hahaha! What a cute rhyme. <3
Thank you. : 0 )
That is a cute song and it makes me want to get the family out there to do yard work. Heehee
