Each year, it has been fun to do group costumes for the kids. The first year they were ducks. Then they were raccoons. Their third Halloween started the group theme (mostly homemade) costumes with Little Bo Peep and her Sheep. Next, they were the characters in the Hey Diddle Diddle Nursery Rhyme. Last year, they did The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle theme. And, this year, they chose the theme of The Lorax. We were very fortunate to have Mia from MiaZ Photography take all the pictures from these shoots. If you live in Southern California or are visiting, I highly recommend booking Mia for a shoot. When we visited Oregon, we booked a local professional and had them dressed in sailor suits and it made all the difference! For the Lorax theme, I made the Swomee-Swan, The Lorax and the Truffula Tree and Greg made the Once-ler. So without further delay, here they are in homemade costumes inspired by The Lorax!

These are amazing!!! I love them all! They are so creative and cute. We love watching the Lorax, and reading it too. I can’t wait to show my boys these pictures.

Thank you Shann Eva.
The first time we went out in these costumes to a local event, people did not seem to know the story of The Lorax. One person pointed at Ryder’s Once-ler costume and said, “look, that boy is dressed as a box!” It made us laugh. It is nice when the characters are recognized. Thank you! : 0 )
