We love to experience our local gardens each season to see what is in bloom and to drink in the fresh air. On this visit, it was a playful performance of cactus flowers. These blooms only last a few days and we were lucky enough to be there at just the right time.
It was a celebration of beauty
and nature’s magnificance
with fantastic flowers nestled against thorns
in the colorful dance of the cactus.
After we indulged in the beauty of flowers, the babies were ready to explore on foot. They wandered among the towering trees, picked up pine needles and experienced their surroundings with a sense of wonderment.
Capri admired a stick she found on her travels
while Grayson enjoyed the freedom of wandering through the trees.
Ryder seemed unsure of which way to go next
as Xayden passed by with a debonaire smirk.
Back in the strollers, Grayson and Capri admired the theater of the pond.
Ryder watched the show unfold with a sun flushed face
while Xayden relaxed and took it in.
The show opened with friendly ducks
followed by water lilies in full bloom.
It was a good opportunity for us to talk about little fish
compared to big fish
before a passing turtle made his debut.
After enjoying lunch at the garden’s cafe, we headed home. The babies missed their nap time and fell into an easy slumber on the ride. It was a wonderful way to spend the day. What have you been doing this summer? I would love to hear from you. As always, comments are welcome.
That looks like a wonderful day at the gardens, how fun! Good for you letting those babies explore nature up close and personal like that. Too cute!
Thank you Angela. I love the new photo of you on your blog in the kitchen, pregnant, making enchiladas. So cute.
