D.I.Y. Foaming Peppermint Hand Soap
With a family of six, we go through hand soap at a rapid rate, especially since we have four nine year-old kids! I used to cringe when they’d pump the expensive hand soaps out three to four pumps at a time, finishing a bottle in a couple of days. But, washing their hands is a good thing, so I came up with a less expensive alternative; making my own. It is so easy to do and smells amazing. Our kids are actually washing their hands more because they love the minty smell!

D.I.Y. Foaming Peppermint Hand Soap
You Will Need:
- One empty foam soap dispenser (just wash and rinse one you already used and pull off the stickers if desired)
- 2 Tablespoons or about an inch of your favorite dish soap. Our blue dish soap adds a nice color to the finished soap.
- Warm water, enough to fill the rest of the bottle
- Butter knife (or something else to stir)
- Peppermint Essential Oil
Add about two tablespoons of your favorite dish soap, or you can eyeball it and add an inch or so. Then, add several drops of peppermint essential oil. I like to add around twelve but you can use more or less depending on how strong you like the scent. Add warm water until your bottle is almost to the top, leaving about a half inch of room. Gently stir your mixture with a butter knife taking care not to create bubbles. Screw the top back on your dispenser and enjoy! It adds to the sensory experience to use it when it is warm and freshly made.
